Conservation Area was started at Catfish Creek in Sparta, Ontario, Canada and completed in studio. What captured my attention was the contrast of the dead trees across the pond, the dry reeds and the brilliant yellows and greens of the surrounding forest. I enjoyed the soothing peace and quiet as I worked on the grisaille and layed in my initial colours onsite.
